Why I Invest $500 a Month (Even When It Hurts)

Some people look at $500 a month and think that’s not much. Others look at it and think, “I could never set that aside.” For me, it’s a line in the sand. I don’t have a 9–5 right now. I don’t have “extra” money falling out of the sky. But I made the choice that if I can discipline myself to invest $500 every single month, I’m building the older version of me a safety net. I split it up: A chunk into the S&P 500 (because history shows it grows if you stay in long enough). Some into crypto like XRP and ETH (because I believe in taking a chance where there’s potential). And a little into individual stocks like Nvidia and Meta (because I like having some tech exposure). I don’t always want to put the money in. Some months it stings. But when I look at it, I’d rather hurt a little today than be broke tomorrow. This blog isn’t about pretending I’ve got it all figured out. It’s me documenting the grind. If you’re reading this and you’re struggling to save or invest, know this: the hardest part is starting. Once you start, it becomes part of who you are. This is me starting.
